Question about streaming TV provider tech

Services like Sling and Philo are all basically massive cloud powered switches that stream TV live into people’s homes via the Internet right? (Very broad strokes obviously)

How hard would it be to start one of these?

So far from what I can see the hardest thing to attain is the rights to rebroadcast certain tv channels.

Sling has done a pretty great job with their channel selection but the quality can be poor and the UX is pretty bad.

The reason why I’m asking is that I may be interested in starting a new one and looking for a tech co-founders as well. (for this project and potentially others)

I am the owner of this brand #thisisagoodsign and would be the marketing and executive arm of the company.

Any feedback on these questions or Pinterest and the project is appreciated.

Thank you
